Big Ten Volleyball Awards Released

The Big Ten announced their postseason award winners, voted on by the conference head coaches.

Sarah Franklin from Wisconsin won player of the year. Franklin led her to a No. 3 overall seed in the tournament and was the only team to beat Nebraska, the No. 1 seed, this year.

Lexi Rodriguez from Nebraska won defensive players of the year for the second time in her career. The Huskers finished first in the conference and are the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament.

Another Husker in Bergen Reilly won setter of the year as a freshman. She is the first freshman to ever receive this award in Big Ten history.

Rounding off the player awards for Nebraska is Harper Murray who won freshman of the year.

John Cook, head coach of Nebraska, won coach of the year by both the coaches and media vote. He led his team to a 28-1 overall record and a conference championship.
